Loudon, N.H.
Wednesday June 24, 2009—

Jarit Johnson will return to the NASCAR Camping World East Series on Friday afternoon for the Heluva Good! Summer 125 event at New Hampshire Motor Speedway in Loudon, N.H. Johnson will pilot the #74 Karl Chevrolet/Jimmie Johnson Foundation Chevrolet for his self-owned team JJR, Inc. It will be the first-ever attempt for Johnson at the 1-mile oval superspeedway.

Johnson competed in the first three events of the 2009 season at Greenville-Pickens Speedway in Greenville (SC) Tri-County Speedway in Hudson (NC) and Iowa Speedway in Newton (IA). The team contended in each event but was struck by mechanical failures. They will seek a solid finish in Loudon.

“We have a great bunch of guys, who have worked really hard to get this car ready,” said Johnson. “These guys are just passionate about racing and I can’t thank them enough for their dedication to this effort.“

The all volunteer crew and their driver started the 14-hour drive to Loudon early Wednesday morning. Johnson feels good about the event despite this being the first time he’ll drive on the track.

“I have confidence that we can do well up there. I’ve never been on the track before, but that’s nothing new for me in my career. I’ve had to learn fast and be consistent. It was the same at Pocono, Phoenix and other events,” expressed Johnson. “We’ve had some mechanical troubles in the past few races. We just need to keep the equipment in one piece and have a good solid finish.”

“We have a great group of sponsors supporting us as well and I’m very grateful for that,” added Johnson.

Support came from 2nd Chance Race Part, Johnson Excavating and Jarit’s own company, Johnson Cooling. In addition, the team will raise awareness of the Jimmie Johnson Foundation by carrying their logo on the car.

Johnson will hit the track Thursday at 11:30 am for the first practice session. Qualifying begins at 3pm on Thursday. The green flag drops at 5pm EST Friday. Stay tuned for race results and news from Jarit Johnson Racing from New Hampshire Motor Speedway.
